What does this have to do with real estate? Nothing, but it is pouring rain here in Oregon today and NASTY out, so I decided to take my kids (7 and 5) to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry today in Portland.
If you have a membership to the AC Gilbert House here in Salem you can get into OMSI for free. There is a national program for science museums and the AC Gilbert House is part of that. You can get into any national science and industry museum at no cost for the admission. So if you are in Chicago, you can take your family the the S&I in Chicago and enter for free. Not a bad deal for $50.00 If you have a family of 4 like me, the cost of admission to OMSI alone gets you close to that.
There is an area called the science playground which is meant for children ages 0-6. The current theme is stream animals. So I brought my camera to take pictures of the new displays for my blog . My 5 year old daughter stayed with me, and my son went off with dad to look at the Robots and Penguin displays.
My daughter and I had a great time, playing the fox den, bear cave, raccoon log, and the great eagle nest (complete with two parental eagles, and two baby eagles). It really was a great display and encourage all parents to go and get a membership at the Gilbert House and take advantage of OMSI at the same time.
They also have a nursing room that is nice and private as well as snack tables off to one side.
The science playground is open from 9:30-5:30 daily (except holidays).
Get out of the rain and into an adventure.
